About Accelerated Industries #
We’re an engineering team that solves problems in legacy systems and emerging AI technology. No fluff, no enterprise consulting theater—just people who’ve been writing code for decades tackling the hard technical problems that most firms avoid.
Why We Exist #
Most businesses running critical systems on Progress OpenEdge, legacy databases, or aging codebases face the same dilemma: these systems work, they contain irreplaceable business logic, but they’re becoming harder to maintain, harder to extend, and harder to integrate with modern technology.
The usual options are terrible. Big consulting firms want to sell you a complete rewrite that will take years and cost millions. Offshore teams don’t understand the business context. New developers don’t want to learn Progress ABL. Meanwhile, your system keeps running, accumulating technical debt, and losing the people who understand it.
Accelerated Industries exists because there’s a better way. We modernize what exists, extend what works, and integrate legacy systems with modern capabilities—particularly AI and machine learning. We’re the team you call when “rewrite it from scratch” isn’t an option, and “keep limping along” isn’t acceptable.
Experience That Matters #
Our team brings over 60 years of combined engineering experience across:
35+ years in Progress 4GL/ABL and OpenEdge - We’ve seen every version, every quirk, every migration path. We’ve written hundreds of thousands of lines of Progress code and know what breaks when you touch it.
Modern language fluency - Python, C, and C++ alongside ABL. We bridge legacy and modern systems because we’re fluent in both.
AI/ML integration expertise - We’ve built RAG systems, LLM applications, and custom AI tools that solve real problems instead of generating hype.
Systems engineering - Linux administration, containerization, infrastructure automation. We know how to deploy, scale, and maintain what we build.
Our Approach #
Engineering-first. We solve technical problems with technical solutions. No project managers padding timelines, no consultants billing for “strategy sessions,” no vendors selling you products you don’t need. You work directly with the engineers writing your code.
Pragmatic modernization. Not everything needs to be rewritten. We identify what’s actually broken, what’s merely old, and what works fine as-is. Then we fix what matters and leave the rest alone.
Knowledge transfer matters. We document what we do, explain why we did it, and ensure your team can maintain what we build. A successful project is one you can run without us afterward.
Honest scoping. If we’re not a good fit, we’ll tell you. If your project isn’t feasible, we’ll tell you that too. We’d rather lose a project than waste your time and money.
Technology Stack #
We work with what solves the problem:
- Legacy: Progress 4GL/ABL, OpenEdge 10-12+, Progress databases
- Modern: Python, C, C++, Postgreql, REST APIs, GraphQL
- AI/ML: LangChain, vector databases, RAG implementations, custom LLM applications
- Infrastructure: Arch Linux (development), Debian (production/containers), Docker, LXC
- Tools: Whatever gets the job done efficiently
- We Can work with your tech stack! No matter what platform you are on, we can adapt!
Who We Work With #
Our typical clients are:
- Mid-sized businesses running critical Progress applications who need modernization without business disruption
- Companies acquiring businesses with legacy systems they need to understand and extend
- Development teams who need specialized expertise for Progress migration or AI integration
- Businesses looking to add AI capabilities to existing systems without the enterprise software vendor markup
Location & Setup #
We’re a fully remote team based in the United States. We run Arch Linux for development work, Debian for production deployments, and believe strongly in open-source tools and transparent processes.
Our small size is a feature, not a limitation. We’re nimble, we communicate directly, and we don’t have bureaucratic overhead to pass on to you.
Want to work with us? Email [info@accelerated.industries] describing what you’re trying to accomplish. We’ll tell you quickly if we’re a fit and what it would take to solve your problem.
